I’d hoped with eq7 on the Mac that I could ultimately get to a system configuration where I could do designing on a Mac (as soon as my PC needs to be replaced) and be able to have “on the go” functionality on my IPad. I can (and do) of course print my quilts and fabric requirements to a file and then transfer it to my IPad. If I had the capability to acces the fabric requirements for any of my quilts it would be very handy. If I am visiting a quilt store and find the perfect fabric for a quilt that I wasn’t immediately planning to work on, I generally will not have fabric requirements with me. If I am planning to buy fabric for a particular quilt I have the fabric requirements with me. The other functionality which would be very useful would be to be able to display the fabric estimates for all of my quilts. Being able to make small changes would be even nicer. Being able to display quilts in my sketchbook, would make this kind of collaborating much more convenient. In my small quilt group I often ask my fellow quilters for comments or suggestions on my quilts. While I would prefer to do quilt design on a system with a larger screen I would love to have some of the eq functionality on my IPad. I was disappointed to hear that Eq7 on the Mac would not include the IPad. We want you to experience the best possible software we can create.

We plan to make a downloadable version and a boxed retail version. Once we have successfully completed the migration kits for our website (hopefully in late January), we will be finalizing the details of the retail Mac version.

These migration kits will be available for existing EQ7 (or EQ7 Upgrade) users only. We hope to have this done by the end of January. We will be offering a “migration” kit for existing users on our website as our first step in the release of the Mac program. We wanted to develop a way to “migrate” an existing license to a new platform. But, we have a large user-base of EQ7 users who run the Windows version of EQ7 on their Macs via Parallels or some other emulation software. Accommodating Our Existing Users We released our first downloadable software for purchase in December.

We have started to incorporate the ability to download software from our website. Since many of the computers on the market now are being manufactured without CD/DVD drives, both PC and Mac, we knew this was something we would need to develop before we released EQ7 for Mac. We are continuing to work on the program and will keep you advised as to our progress. We had hoped to be ready to release a Mac version of EQ7 in January.
